"You see news day-after-day about children getting shot and other people your age dying and it is simply extremely sad and unbelievable, particularly to see like youngsters younger and kids my age," Janoff informed ABC Information. "I cant think about that being me; however it is conceivable because it occurs so usually."
The 17 year-old says her school's administration was in assist of the walkout and he or she hopes the over 200 deliberate demonstrations throughout the nation ship a transparent message that students are a "united entrance."
A walkout might not necessarily change legislation, Janoff said, but these actions show "students are still united on this."
She said that although most college students aren't old enough to vote, they still wish to see change and are prepared to take measures to have their voices heard in politics.
