Apple has discontinued the iPod, 20 years after it was launched.
The US tech big stated its iconic music participant has been replaced by other units, making the iPod redundant.
Greg Joswiak, Apple's senior vice-president of worldwide advertising, mentioned: "Immediately, the spirit of iPod lives on.
"We have integrated an unimaginable music experience across all of our products, from the iPhone to the Apple Watch to HomePod mini, and across Mac, iPad, and Apple TV.
"And Apple Music delivers industry-leading sound high quality with help for spatial audio - there is no better approach to take pleasure in, discover, and experience music."
In October 2001, Steve Jobs debuted the unique iPod and it was the first MP3 player that could hold 1,000 songs and had a 10-hour battery life.
"With iPod, Apple has invented a complete new category of digital music participant that permits you to put your whole music collection in your pocket and hearken to it wherever you go," he mentioned at the time.
"With iPod, listening to music won't ever be the same again."
Related MP3 gamers released by Microsoft and Sony didn't have the same success as the iPod.
Apple has launched 5 versions of its music participant - the Classic, Touch, Shuffle, Mini and Nano.
The corporate has been slowly killing its iPod range lately, with mobile phone expertise enabling prospects to take heed to music companies on their telephones.
In 2014, the basic click on wheel mannequin was discontinued, and the Shuffle and Nano have been killed off three years later.
