Die Seitenbesitzer erkannten rasch den Wert einer nahmen Positionierung in Suchergebnissen und recht bald entstanden Anstalt, die sich auf die Besserung qualifizierten. In den Anfängen geschah die Aufnahme oft zu der Übertragung der URL der entsprechenden Seite in puncto divergenten Suchmaschinen. Diese sendeten dann einen Webcrawler zur Analyse der Seite aus und indexierten sie.[1] Der Webcrawler lud die Webpräsenz auf den Web Server der Suchseiten, wo ein 2. Softwaresystem, der sogenannte Indexer, Infos herauslas und katalogisierte (genannte Ansprüche, Links zu weiteren Seiten). Die damaligen Typen der Suchalgorithmen basierten auf Informationen, die mit den Webmaster selbst vorliegen worden sind, wie Meta-Elemente, oder durch Indexdateien in Search Engines wie ALIWEB. Meta-Elemente geben eine Gesamtübersicht mit Inhalt einer Seite, doch stellte sich bald heraus, dass die Benutzung dieser Vorschläge nicht gewissenhaft war, da die Wahl der eingesetzten Schlüsselworte durch den Webmaster eine ungenaue Erläuterung des Seiteninhalts reflektieren hat. Ungenaue und unvollständige Daten in den Meta-Elementen konnten so irrelevante Webseiten bei besonderen Recherchieren listen.[2] Auch versuchten Seitenersteller diverse Eigenschaften in des HTML-Codes einer Seite so zu beherrschen, dass die Seite größer in den Resultaten gefunden wird.[3] Da die zeitigen Suchmaschinen im Netz sehr auf Aspekte abhängig waren, die ausschließlich in Händen der Webmaster lagen, waren sie auch sehr labil für Abusus und Manipulationen im Ranking. Um bessere und relevantere Resultate in Ergebnissen zu erhalten, mussten sich die Inhaber der Suchmaschinen im Netz an diese Ereignisse einstellen. Weil der Erfolg einer Suchseite davon abhängig ist, wichtigste Suchresultate zu den inszenierten Keywords anzuzeigen, vermochten ungeeignete Vergleichsergebnisse zur Folge haben, dass sich die Benutzer nach weiteren Chancen zur Suche im Web umgucken. Die Rückmeldung der Search Engines lagerbestand in komplexeren Algorithmen fürs Rangordnung, die Faktoren beinhalteten, die von Webmastern nicht oder nur mühevoll steuerbar waren. Larry Page und Sergey Brin entwickelten mit „Backrub“ – dem Vorläufer von Yahoo – eine Search Engine, die auf einem mathematischen Routine basierte, der mit Hilfe der Verlinkungsstruktur Seiten gewichtete und dies in Rankingalgorithmus einfließen ließ. Auch sonstige Suchmaschinen im Internet bezogen pro Folgezeit die Verlinkungsstruktur bspw. fit der Linkpopularität in ihre Algorithmen mit ein. Bing
Is using a server side wildcard redirect good practice? This was done but the old domain urls are still indexed a year later. Rankings for the new domain are still terrible and not the same as before the change of address tool.

My question is that we see the usage of webp images more frequently, also Apple announced that he will support Google’s webp image format. Looking at most of the webshops using webp already the type of the image is webp, but they leave the extension of jpg for example https://google.com/image.jpg but type is webp. What could be the reason for that? Wouldn't it be better if the image would have a .webp extension or no extension at all. Is this related somehow to indexing or SEO? I think they do not want to make the redirect of the images and that’s why they change just the type of the file instead of changing the extension.

We did domain name change some months ago and over 3 months everything was fine in terms of ranking, then suddenly we lost all our ranking. All SEO guru have been indicating it's duplicate content issue because both old and new domain contents are on one server. Can you drop some light on this?

If you migrate your website then check out 301 redirect a few times. Even more, after migration control your redirects because it might break in some time.
