BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A person was arrested Friday after multiple indicators saying "school shooter" were found in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Department of Safety announced. Man Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces a number of charges.
Man Hanson. New Hampshire State PoliceAn increased amount of police officers had been positioned at colleges in the communities as a result of the signs. A number of faculties initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.
Hanson allegedly positioned the indicators around the communities, the Division of Security said, but they determined there isn't a credible menace at this time.
The New Hampshire Department of Safety is investigating indicators that read 'faculty shooter!' which have been found in multiple communities New Hampshire Department of SafetyOne such signal was written on a paper plate. The security division launched a photo of the plate however blurred part of it "to protect the integrity of the investigation."
Hanson was arrested on a felony cost of criminal threatening and three misdemeanor costs including false report to regulation enforcement, false public alarm and criminal threatening. He's being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a listening to scheduled for Tuesday.
No different suspects have been charged right now.
