Apple has discontinued the iPod, 20 years after it was released.
The US tech giant stated its iconic music participant has been changed by other devices, making the iPod redundant.
Greg Joswiak, Apple's senior vice-president of worldwide advertising and marketing, stated: "At this time, the spirit of iPod lives on.
"We have built-in an unbelievable music expertise across all of our products, from the iPhone to the Apple Watch to HomePod mini, and throughout Mac, iPad, and Apple TV.
"And Apple Music delivers industry-leading sound high quality with support for spatial audio - there isn't any better strategy to take pleasure in, discover, and experience music."
In October 2001, Steve Jobs debuted the unique iPod and it was the primary MP3 participant that would hold 1,000 songs and had a 10-hour battery life.
"With iPod, Apple has invented an entire new class of digital music participant that allows you to put your complete music collection in your pocket and listen to it wherever you go," he mentioned on the time.
"With iPod, listening to music won't ever be the same once more."
Comparable MP3 gamers released by Microsoft and Sony didn't have the identical success as the iPod.
Apple has launched five versions of its music player - the Basic, Touch, Shuffle, Mini and Nano.
